Two new stages

We have two new stages in Canada from CTFC:

18th October 2016 – 18th November 2016

Quim Canelles from the CTFC stays one month with Alain Leduc from CEF . Quim will be working on vegetation dynamic modelling, more specifically in calibrating vegetation growth and post-disturbance transitions.

27th October 2016 – 3rd December 2016

Assu Gil-Tena, from the CTFC, spends one month and a half in Catana working with CEF researchers (Pierre Drapeau). Assu will be finishing the work started from the previous stay in 2014, on the development of landscape network assessments to determine how woodpeckers are affected by landscape fragmentation in boreal forests of Quebec.

Have both a nice stay!

New Stage!

12nd October 2016 – 6th December 2016

Alejandra Morán, from the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, is spending two months in CEF. Ale will be working on the assessment of ecosystem services values associated to forest systems in highly dynamic landscapes under sifferent scenarios. Have a nice stay!

New Secondment

24th September 2016 – 15th November 2016

Aitor Ameztegui, past member of CEF and current researcher at the CREAF, is now spending 1.5 months in Montréal investigating the role of functional diversity on individual tree growth for a set of 19 tree species. He will work with Alain Paquette within the IDENT experimental network. Enjoy!

Nuria Aquilué comes back to Montreal

20th September 2016 – 7th December 2016

Núria Aquilué, from the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, is spending two months in CEF working on the spatial modelling of land-use changes and its interaction with fire regimes in Mediterranean and Boreal systems. Enjoy!

Carla Bellera New Stage

19th September 2016 – 21th November 2016

Carla Bellera, from the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, is spending two months in CEF. Carla will be preparing the Capitalization Report of the Newforests project, which will present final results about knowledge gathered by project researchers.

New stage

11th August 2016 – 7th January 2017

Lluís Brotons, from the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, will work during five months with CEF researchers (Christian Messier and Louis Imbeau) on landscape modelling and drone research development. Enjoy your stay!

New stage

07th August 2016 – 09th September 2016

Lluís Coll, from the CTFC, will be working during one month with Dan Kneeshaw and Christian Messier from CEF investigating the spatial dynamics of mixed forests in Boreal and Mediterranean ecosystems. Good luck and enjoy your stay again!

Roberto Molowny New Stage in Montréal

1st August 2016 – 30th September 2016

Roberto Molowny, from the CREAF, is spending 2 months in Montréal working with Liliana Pérez (CEF). Roberto will continue his work on biological-invasions modelling with cellular automata, agent-based and swarm-intelligence algorithms. Enjoy your stay!

Enrique New Stage

15th July 2016 – 28th August 2016

Enrique Doblas, from the CREAF, will be working during one month and a half with Alain Paquette and Timothy Work from CEF investigating the effects of tree diversity on soil arthropod communities in agroforestry. Good luck and enjoy your stay again!

Two new stages

We have two new stages in Canada from the CREAF:

24th June 2016 – 9th September 2016

Jordi Martinez-Vilalta, researcher in the CREAF,  is spending three months with CEF researchers (Christian Messier).  Jordi is characterizing the variability in tree functional traits along environmental gradients at different scales.

25th June 2016 – 27th August 2016

Josep Maria Espelta Morral from the CREAF is staying two months with Christian Messier (CEF) working on a review of woody debris management in different biomes.

Have both a nice stay!
